Official Selection of the 2018 Joedance Film Festival!
We met Bryan Wehrkamp (also known as Companyon) while shooting the music video for The Genuine’s song, Spark and we connected instantly. Bryan mentioned that he had a new album coming out soon and wanted a music video for his first single, Sea is for Courage.
We spent the next few weeks collaborating to unlock the perfect story for the video, finding locations, cast members, and even scouting the Springhaven farm house out in Fancy Gap, VA. Bryan came to the table with a ton of great ideas, and welcomed our creativity and input as well. He was a joy to work with.
We set up our Aputure LS1 and LS1/2 light panels outside the window of our farmhouse interior location, so that we had consistent light all day. The following day we headed outside to capture all of the exterior footage using only natural light. We shot in 4K on the Sony a7SII using our Rokinon 35mm, 50mm and 85mm lenses.
We had so much fun filming this video, as you can see here in our Instagram story from that weekend. I hope this video helps make Companyon a household name, and that he remembers us for his next video when he’s wildly famous!
